Hello everyone! A lot has happened since our very first playtest, and we are excited to show you the progress we’ve made on our dream of creating a small, independent MMORPG. Our next test will begin this Saturday, February 22 at 10 a.m. (UTC+1), and we sincerely hope you’ll be there!

Project Origins

At first, the idea was to build an MMORPG by taking advantage of recent advances in generative AI, with the goal of quickly prototyping a world and its basic features. We thought it would be interesting to let AI generate the scenery and some of the game assets to speed up development.

However, as we moved forward, people with 3D expertise joined the project, which opened the door to a major evolution: switching the game entirely to 3D and creating our own universe without relying exclusively on generative algorithms. Before fully embracing this new 3D era, we want to finalize the initial concept and test it in two phases of playtesting. This will allow us to gather feedback, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and then evolve the game with full awareness of its needs.

Current Progress

We’re all working on this project in our spare time alongside our regular jobs, which explains the sometimes slow pace of development. Our goal is to reach a sufficiently polished alpha version so that we can seek funding and dedicate ourselves fully to the game. Thanks to your feedback, we are making steady progress step by step.

Playtest Phases

We will organize two phases for this second playtest:

  1. Phase 1: It will begin on February 22 at 10 a.m. (UTC+1) and run until the end of April, with regular updates along the way. This first phase is reserved for our current community (especially on Discord), so we can quickly identify bugs and gather concrete feedback on the new features.
  2. Phase 2: Starting in late April, once the main issues are resolved, we will gradually open the test to more players. The goal then is to expand the community and see if we can generate excitement around such an early-stage project.

New Features in This Playtest

We initially planned this second playtest for late December 2024, but development took longer than expected. We introduced several new features that brought their share of bugs and fixes. Here’s a quick overview of the most significant additions:

  • Market System

Throughout this second playtest, we plan to add even more content, including a brand-new dungeon and additional quests to further enrich the adventure. We’ll keep you updated on new additions and fixes as they are released.

What’s Next

Our main priority is to gather as much feedback as possible during these two test phases to figure out the best path forward for transitioning to 3D and building an even more immersive world. We can’t wait to see how you’ll interact with these new features and to hear your thoughts.

Additionally, we want to involve our existing community more deeply in the project. We will regularly run polls to get your opinions on certain decisions. Feel free to join us on Discord to discuss and share your ideas!

Thank you again for your patience and support. See you soon in the game!
